The AAT qualification consists of three levels

This is the final level of the full AAT accounting qualification.

This level will be completed by students who have previously completed the AAT Advanced Diploma in Accounting.

On completion of the Professional Diploma in Accounting, candidates will be able to apply for full membership to the AAT.

This course is ideal for you if you are working in accountancy or finance or want to work in accountancy or finance.

Some students choose to continue studying and gain exemptions from Accountancy bodies to include ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants), CIMA (Chartered Institute of Management Accountants), CIPFA (Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy), ICAEW (Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales).

What Will I Study?

The AAT Professional Diploma in Accounting consists of 3 mandatory units, plus 2 optional units (selected from a choice of 5), with a total of 6 assessments.

This course will cover the following mandatory areas: Financial Statements for Limited Companies, Management Accounting – Budgeting, Management Accounting – Decisions & Controls, and Accounting Systems and Controls.

Two optional units must be chosen from the following:

  • Personal tax
  • Business tax
  • Cash & Treasury management
  • Audit and Assurance
  • Credit and Debt Management

What Qualification Will I Get?

Upon successful completion of this level, you will be awarded the Professional Diploma in Accounting.

How Long Will I Study?

The duration of the Level 4 course is 34 weeks (plus exam weeks)

How Will I Be Assessed?

AAT assessments are:

  • Practical computer based assessments (CBAs)
  • Designed to reflect real-life tasks
  • Results are provided by the AAT within 6 weeks of the assessment date

What Are The Entry Requirements?

Students will be expected to have completed the AAT Advanced Diploma in Accounting

What Can I Do After This Course?
